About Amy

Amy Climer dove headfirst into photography while working for Semester at Sea and traveling around Europe for a summer. During the trip she had a simple Pentax S4 digital point-and-shoot camera and a Minolta Maxxum 5 film camera. 2,000 photos later she found herself thinking in frames and fell in love with photograpy. Upon returning to the United States she bought her first digital SLR, the Canon 30D. Since then she had taken photography classes at University of Wisconsin and Madison Area Technical College. She particularly enjoys nature and travel photography, but also does studio work photographing artwork and small products. In Spring of 2011 Amy worked for Semester at Sea again, this time traveling around the world and visiting 11 countries. Photos and stories from her trip can be found on her blog.
